“We’re 100% happy.”

Our brand new Ruru apartments welcomed their first resident earlier this year: Lenore, a lovely lady who lived on a lifestyle property in Whitford. Even if the move meant downsizing for Lenore, she couldn’t be happier with her decision. “I knew I wanted a view, and now I can see Rangitoto in the background.”

Ruru is the latest addition to our beautiful thirty acres of residential living in Pakuranga Park. It’s a four-storey building that offers luxury apartments, with high studs and lots of glass for light-filled, spacious living.

Ruru is a magnificent four storey building of high spec residences.

New residents Brian and Anne are still impressed with how spacious their apartment is: “Our living area is big. We had our family and friends over, with 14 people, and only used up half of the room!” It’s the same feedback we got from Colin and June, a couple who bought a three-bedroom apartment and turned one of the bedrooms into a working studio. “We love the building. It’s architecturally very nice, very modern, and full of light.”

At Ruru, every apartment has a large balcony, so indoor/outdoor living can be enjoyed year-round.

June is a devoted artist who exhibited some of her artwork in this year’s exhibition at Pakuranga Park, a very successful show that saw almost 500 visitors come through the doors. Like the other residents at Ruru, Colin and June have busy and independent lives but they also love to participate in some of the village’s social activities: “The friendship and companionship is great. We have been to three functions down at the villas and we were thrilled with how nice and friendly everybody is. “

The Community Centre at Pakuranga Park was changed into a contemporary Museum with more than 220 pieces exhibited.

The Ruru apartments incorporate a weekly fee package that includes power and the use of an electric car. Before moving into Ruru, John and Sandra compared last year’s expenses with the weekly fee package and concluded that, “It is good value for money”. They have a holiday house in the Coromandel so for them Ruru offered the convenience and safety they were looking for: “It’s a lock and leave so when you walk out of the door it closes itself and you can forget about it, you know your apartment is safe.”

Pakuranga Park has its own fabulous facilities, therefore the car may spend most of its time securely parked in the underground garage.

One of the perks included in the weekly fee package is our Wednesday Happy Hour, with drinks and delicious nibbles. Janet is one of our newest residents who loves the opportunity to catch up with her neighbours once a week. “It’s a great way of meeting new people.”

The Happy Hour is the residents' best chance to socialise with their neighbours.

Like Janet, all the residents who have moved to Ruru are very impressed with the building’s breath-taking atrium. It features a four-storey mural from well-known Auckland-based artist Flox. The mural is a vibrant portrayal of New Zealand’s native plants and birds, including, of course, the New Zealand native owl (Ruru). The mural is the perfect backdrop for the Happy Hour.

Flox's mural is a commanding piece of art that welcomes residents and visitors into the atrium.

“I love it to bits, it couldn’t be better,” says Anne about her new apartment. John and Sandra couldn’t agree more. “We’re very happy we made the move. We’re a lot more relaxed about life.” In case there was any doubt about their contentment, Colin and June add, “We’re 100% happy!”

Our brand new Ruru apartments are filling up fast and currently have eleven apartments remaining. If you would like to visit our show apartments, call Kate on 095765990 or 021855735 or Sylvie on 095765990 or 0273145767.

A village with heart

“I’ve never had a moment’s doubt about my decision to move to Epsom Village.” Like Karen, so many of our residents are so happy with their new lifestyle that they don’t want to keep it to themselves. As a proud New Zealand family-owned village, we offer a level of care, warmth, and personal connection that big corporate operators simply can’t replicate. With only 90 residents, Epsom Village is intimate, charming, and distinctive — a place with real character and soul.
